Mandarin language courses are structured in progressive levels that learners must complete step by step to build mastery of the language. Additionally, internationally recognized proficiency exams such as the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) support applications for education and work opportunities in China and other Mandarin-speaking environments. Mandarin Exam – HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi)

HSK 1 and HSK 2

  • Beginner Level
  • Designed for learners at the starting stage of Chinese, focusing on essential vocabulary and simple expressions used in everyday situations.

HSK 3 and HSK 4

  • Intermediate Level
  • Intended for learners who can manage routine conversations and common topics, demonstrating a strong foundation in grammar and vocabulary.

HSK 5 and HSK 6

  • Advanced Level
  • Targeted at learners with a high level of proficiency, enabling them to understand complex texts, including newspapers, academic materials, & in-depth discussions.

HSK Exam Structure

HSK 1 and HSK 2

  • Level 1 and Level 2 focuses on Listening and Reading only.
  • HSK 1 comprises of Listening section and Reading section. Listening section consist of 20 questions (true/false & multiple choice) and Reading section consist of 20 questions (all multiple choice questions).
  • HSK 2 consist of Listening and Reading section too. Listening section has 35 questions (true/false & multiple choice) and Reading section consist of 25 questions (all multiple choice questions)

HSK 3 to HSK 6

  • Level 3 to 6 tests Listening, Reading and writing skills of candidates.
  • HSK 3 and HSK 4 Levels handle daily communication tasks in both oral and written forms.
  • HSK 5 and HSK 6: These are the final levels of the HSK Exam. They comprise of Reading, Listening and Writing sections respectively. The final levels tests the ability of a candidate as to how they comprehend complex tests and how do they express their ideas fluently in diverse scenarios.
